Itinerary

Day 1 Singapore Beijing

Your exciting holiday begins with a pleasant flight to a fascinating city - Beijing. It is a famous cultural city with a history of 3,000 years and the capital of the People’s Republic of China and is the nation’s center of government, economy, culture, and international activities, as well as a transportation hub. The local representative will meet and greet you on your arrival and will begin with a tour to the Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is located in the center of the city, covering an area of 400,000sq.m. It is the first largest public square in the world. It was the front gateway to the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Palace Museum is located behind of the square, was also called “Forbidden City”. It is the largest and best-preserved cluster of ancient buildings in China. It was home to two dynasties of emperors, the Ming and the Qing. It has 9,000 halls and rooms containing many precious relics, is the largest palace in the world and one of the mankind’s major cultural legacies. United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) listed it as world cultural heritage. Jingshan Park is located in center axis of the city and the screen of the palace. Thus, the geomancer called “guard hill”. Many fruit trees were planted; deers and cranes were fed in the park in Ming and Qing dynasty. You can see the whole scenery of Forbidden City when you climb on to the top of Jingshan Park. In the evening, proceed to enjoy the world famous acrobatic show. ( Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2 Beijing

After breakfast, we will proceed to the Temple of Heaven, also known as “TianTan”. It is constructed in 1420 as a venue for emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties to pray to heaven for good harvests. Temple of Heaven is well known for its unique, elegant ornamented architectural structures and the well-furnished layouts. The New Capital Museum is a modern museum which possesses advanced facilities. It is the large-scale modern culture spot. It has being invested by Beijing government for 21st century. Most exhibitions are the collection of museum and unearthed relics of Beijing. 80%culture relics are first time opened to public. Lastly do some shopping at the Yaxiu Market.

Day 3 Beijing

We will begin the day by visiting Summer Palace, enroute viewing the outlook of the 2008 Olympics Stadium ~ Bird Nest and The National Aquatic Centre. Summer Palace is an imperial garden in tradition Chinese style. This is the largest imperial palace and garden complex in China. It was the emperor’s playground, within are 3,000 halls, pavilions, towers, courtyards and more. Within also are the famous Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake.

Day 4 Beijing Datong

This morning, we will start our tour by visiting one of the wonders of ancient world, the awe-inspiring Great Wall ~ Juyongguan Great Wall. The Great Wall, one of the greatest architectural works built in ancient China, stretches some 6,000km from the Shanhaiguan Pass in the east to the Jiayuguan Pass in the west. The section at Badaling, 80 km north of Beijing, was reconstructed in the Ming Dynasty and was once an important pass of the wall. Thereafter, proceed to visit the Great Wall Winery and you get a chance to taste of the red wine. Continue our journey to Datong which is located at the northern part of Shanxi.

Day 5 Datong Beijing

Datong is a famous historical and cultural city in the north China with a history of 2000 years. Its strategic position is also important. We will visit Yungang Grottoes. This 500 years old Yungang Grottoes in west Datong is the largest cluster of grottoes in China and a world-famous treasure house of Art. XuanKong Temple (Hanging Monastery), located in Mt. Hengshan south of Datong. The most dramatic of the Eighteen Scenes of Hengshan is the Hanging Monastery, suspended precariously under an overhanging precipice. Some of the 40 halls in this temple are held up by a single support-pillar. After visiting the well preserved Nine-Dragon Wall, continue drive back to Beijing.

Day 6 Beijing

Today, our tour begins with Cuandixia Ancient Village. This village has more than 500 years of history. It has 500 houses as well as more than 70 squared-gardens. Cuandixia is one of the ancient villages which China government can well kept it until this century. Marco Polo Bridge is located 15km southwest from Beijing city. It is the oldest stone bridge in Beijing city. It is 266.5-meter long and 7.5 width. There are 140 pillars with 501 stone-made cubs on the pillars.

Day 7 Beijing

After breakfast, make your trip to visit HuTong. There are 4550 Hu Tongs built around Beijing’s Forbidden City during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. They are mostly quadrangles, a closed in structure characterized by houses arranged symmetrically on all sides of a square courtyard. The Hutong are an epitome of the history, culture and lifestyle of Beijing. After which, visit Shishahai Street, lined up with pubs. Next, visit the Place, two four storey shopping mall which allows shoppers to enjoy trendy international brands, lifestyle shopping, relaxing eateries and entertainment. It has a huge skyscreen covering the link of the 2 malls. This LED Screen, measuring a massive 4800 square meters, showcases Beijing modern capability. Follow by visit to Nan Luo Gu Xiang, built 700 years ago in the Yuan dynasty and is mainly a protected street of traditional courtyard homes. The street is about 1000 meters long with 8 symmetrical lanes on each side thus having a nickname called “ Centipede Street “. With its grey-walled courtyard homes, it offers a real taste of traditional city life. There, you can find many bars, stores and restaurants turning Nan Luo Gu Xiang into one of the hippest streets in Beijing. You will be given ample time for own shopping in Wangfujing Shopping Street and Donghuamen Night Market. Transfer to airport for your flight back to Singapore.
