Your holidays begin with your international flight from Singapore Changi Airport to Istanbul. Upon your arrival in Istanbul, proceed with a simple breakfast before the start of our tour programs in Istanbul. First, we will start with a visit to St. Sophia Museum, which is one of the greatest architectural marvels of the ancient world. Next, we will move on to the Hippodrome, the sportive and political center of the Old City. Blue Mosque, facing St. Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, was built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. After lunch at Chinese restaurant, we will then visit Topkapi Palace, the seat of the Ottoman Empire for four centuries, and visit the treasury section. Dinner and check in hotel.
We will begin our scenic drive down to Gallipoli, which is historically famous for being the site of many battles during WWI. Followed by a lunch break, we will cross the second strategic waterway, the Dardanelles, land in Asia and proceed to Troy. Referring to Homer's "Iliad" and "Odyssey", Troy has in fact nine cities superimposed one upon another. Troy Vl pertains to the famous Trojan War of Homer where the legendary heroes included Agamemnon, Achilles, Ulysses and Nestor on the Greek side and, Priam, Hector and Paris on the Trojan side. We will check-in to our hotel in Canakkale and for dinner.
Depart for Kusadasi, enroute we will have lunch in Bergama. After lunch, we shall visit Pergamon to watch the Ancient Medical Center, Asclepion. After that, follow by driving to Kusadası for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we will drive to Selcuk where you will explore Ephesus, one of the largest archaeological sites in existence. You will find awesome structures such as the Library of Celsius, Hadrian Temple, Marble Street and Agora. Ephesus is also one of the 7 Churches of Revelation and holds the House of Virgin Mary. Virgin Mary and St John were said to have lived in Ephesus and died there. After that, head to Pamukkale. Right after dinner, you can enjoy free thermal pool at the hotel.
After Breakfast, you will tour the ruins of the Ancient City of Hierapolis, where Calcareous hot springs descending over cliffs have created fascinating travertine in the form of white terrace and basins. Travel on to Cappadocia via Konya, the famous old capital of the Selcuk Turks. After visiting the Mevlana Museum, we will continue to Cappadocia for the viewing of the Sultanhani Caravanserai enroute. Dinner and stay in Cappadocia.
After breakfast at hotel, we will visit the incredible Underground City of Kaymakli, where early Christians lived secretly in order to survive and keep their faith. Followed by Goreme Open Air Museum, a compound comprising 29 rock-cut churches, with some dating back to the 6th-century and decorated with beautiful frescoes depicting biblical stories. Thereafter, proceed to Uchisar, an old village of small dwellings carved into massive rocks. After gathering some nice memories at the valley of birds and Uchisar Castle, make a stopover at carpet factory. Tonight, you will enjoy Belly and Folk Dance show at the traditional night club.
This morning, we will drive pass the picturesque Salt Lake and arrive at Ankara – capital of Turkey. Our Ankara sightseeing highlights the magnificent Ataturk Mausoleum (1881-1938), founding father of the Turkish Republic. Next, we will proceed to the enchanting town of Bolu. Dinner & overnight in Bolu.
There will be a scenic drive to Istanbul. In Istanbul, we will browse around the exciting Grand bazaar. Free at leisure for your own shopping at this maze of over 4000 tiny shops selling gold, jewelry, leatherwork and fine carpets. Lunch will be at Chinese restaurant. Stay in Istanbul tonight.
Breakfast will be at the hotel. Free at leisure until pick-up from the hotel and transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
